Other's NEON pool table - boring/un-impressive

The NEOS experience!

The NEOS concept began in 2013. My son and I enjoyed playing pool together in our basement. One evening, during one of his shots, I briefly stepped away. When I returned, I had something from the storage closet and said it was from when I was a teenager. I plugged it in, asked my son to turn off the lights and I turned on a Blacklight.

He was amazed and exclaimed, "Wow, that's impressive! What's that?" I explained that it was a Blacklight that causes certain substances to fluorescence. He immediately noticed, that the pool balls did not fluoresce. During several of my next few pool shots, he researched on his phone and found regulation pool balls that fluoresced under Blacklight. He asked if we could purchase them and I said sure. From that point on, we continually explored methods to transition our basement to make our pool table, ping pong table, foosball table, and other items fluoresce. We also noticed that we needed Blacklight posters but wanted something different from the vintage-style posters from the 1960s and 1970s.

Fortunately, I was a graphic artist and began designing and printing reversed-out black-and-white line art posters that I hand-painted with fluorescent paint. While we loved the posters, I found painting them to be tedious and boring. I would grumble to myself, "I wish I had a printer that could print with UV reactive ink."

After some research I believed I found a way to achieve my goal of printing with UV reactive ink that could even print photographs instead of just line art that would fluoresce. I purchased a printer and UV reactive ink but unfortunately, the results were disappointing; the colors did not pop in Blacklight. I couldn't determine why the prints weren’t fluorescing as expected. I did some additional research but found little helpful information. Frustrated and puzzled, I simply continued printing black-and-white posters and painting them by hand.

Noticing my sustained frustration and recognizing the potential, my son conducted in-depth research and finally identified the underlying issue. He learned that UV printing was actually more complex than simply buying a printer and printing. He shared his findings of the discrepancies with me.

We made various technical adjustments but still experienced significant trial and errors over many months. Fortunately, persistence and patience prevailed, and we were finally in 2022, we were able to print high-quality, eye-popping UV reactive prints consistently. You know when you’re successful when everyone loves our stunning UV reactive prints under Blacklight!

This inspired us to startup a specialized printing company so that everyone could enjoy prints of their fav pics under Blacklight. NEOS UV Creations was founded: dedicated to helping others enjoy extraordinary prints of their fav pics under Blacklight.
